1950's FORD "ALL PURPOSE TRAVELING LIGHT" MIB Original Ford travel light...new in the box. the box has some wear but the light is perfect inside. To be fussy the metel on the light bulb looks discolored sort of greenish. This is a great collectors item. It was my Dad's and he said it was from 1957 I don't see a date on it though. The part that plugs into the lighter is marked "SAFCO, Pat.Pend.".

Ceramic cat Thermometer This is a classic 1950's cat thermometer. It is creamic and measures 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The cramic is perfect with just light wear. Someone must have glued it to a board at one time. I have not tried to remove the glue. This piece was made to hang but can also stand.

1950's - 60's Bird in Cage THERMOMETER It is perfect, measures about 3 ½ inches tall including the loop handle. The dome is plastic ad the top and base are gold colored metal…may be brass. The thermometer appears to be working and is a dial type with a red arrow pointer. The bird is flocked and I believe it is a barometer. Right now it is blue because we have a very moist day. But, I think when we dry out it will be pink.

SOLDPIN-UP GIRL THERMOMETER with Advertisement A lovely girl adorns this neat thermometer. The poses is so 1950's. The girl in long black gown and full lenght opera gloves. She holds a small black mask and a violet orchid is at her waist. The background is reverse painted on the back of the glass. The thermometer is in the grandfathers clock. The advertisement reads "J.J. METKOS Distributer Beer, Ale, Porter, and Postie's Sodas 1178-80 W. CENTRE ST. SHENANDOAH< PA. PHONE 2-0171". The frame is plastic and the cardboard back is marked " "Forever" trademark". It measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" and has a loop built in at the top of the frame for easy hanging. Condition is very good with three areas where there reverse glass paint is chipped away.

Antique Iron Stone Soup Plate Decorated wih U.S. Postage Stamps This is a very unusual piece. I tried to research it wondering if it was a piece of tramp art or a popular hobby from the early 1900's. I really found no answers to my questions. I did find a facinating article from the new York Times 1893 that bears a strong resemblace to this piece. Read it at http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F70B11FD3E5A1A738DDDA00994D9415B8385F0D3 In any event this plate is in perfect condition (there are the typical stilt marks on the back...looks like surface imperfections but, are from the stilts used to hold the plate in the kiln as the glaze melts). The bowl is 8 3/4" across and is decorated with cancilled U.S. Postage stamps and gold paint. Most of the stamps have been cut into shapes to make the design more intricate. The paint has aged and some paint and stamps are worn. But, I am totally impressd with this piece.

Telefone Timer Hour Glass This is a 1950's vintage saracco wood Hour Glass timer. Yes, from a time when we had to watch how long we talked on the phone! It is 5 inches across and 3 1/4 inches tall not counting the glass hour glass tube. The title is purposely spelled "Telefone Timer" and it has a paper plaque that reads "Phone all you like to but don't be a pill Just make it short, It keeps down our bill". On the front it is marked "Burwood and 53" 53 may be the year. Condition is very good with just light wear.
